Though many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present little or zero threat, some have been linked with severe health issues, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics get into a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in water, food, and several other ordinary products. Still, no classification of consumer products is subject to less government management than cosmetics, including Blusher (Glow). While most of the chemicals in cosmetics likely pose minimal risk, being exposed to a few has been associated with major health disorders, such as cancer.
