Though the majority of chemicals in beauty products pose slight or absolutely no risk, some have been associated to serious health problems, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics invade the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in water, food, and lots of other common products.
