Though many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present very little or absolutely no threat, several are associated with considerable medical conditions, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals invade the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and cause the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and various other common items.
