While the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present slight or no risk, several dozen have been associated to severe medical conditions, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other everyday products. Yet, no group of consumer products is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Perfecting Concealer.
