Though many chemicals in beauty products pose limited or zero risk, several dozen have been associated with significant health problems, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.
