Although many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose very little or no risk, some are linked with considerable health conditions, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals enter the body through the skin and inhalation, and pose similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food and lots of other commonly used items. Yet, no classification of consumer items is susceptible to less government management than cosmetics, including Lip Lites.
