While most chemicals in cosmetic products pose little or zero danger, several dozen are associated to substantial health conditions, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals gain entry to a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other ordinary products.
