While the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present minimal or no threat, dozens are associated to severe health issues, such as neurological harm and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other commonly used goods.
