Though the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products present hardly any or no risk, several are associated with severe health problems, including developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics gain entry to the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in food and lots of other commonly used goods. But, no kind of consumer goods is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics, including Mineral Makeup Foundation. Though most of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics very likely pose minimal risk, exposure to some has been associated with substantial health concerns, including cancer.
