While many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose minimal or absolutely no threat, several dozen have been associated with significant health conditions, including developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food and many other commonly used products. Yet, no type of consumer products is subject to less government direction than cosmetics, including Mineral Light. Though many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics in all likelihood pose little risk, being exposed to a few has been associated with worrying health conditions, such as cancer.
