Though many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose very little or no danger, several dozen are associated with severe health problems, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics gain entry to the body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food and several other commonly used goods.
