While most chemicals in beauty products present slight or zero risk, several dozen have been associated to substantial medical issues, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals invade the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and a lot of other common products.
