Although many chemicals in cosmetics pose little or absolutely no risk, several dozen have been associated to significant health conditions, such as developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.
