While the majority of chemicals in cosmetics pose little or absolutely no threat, several dozen have been associated to severe health conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals gain entry to the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other ordinary products. However, no classification of consumer products is accountable to less government inspection than cosmetics and other personal products, including DC 106 Nail gel & polish. Though many of the chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products in all likelihood pose very little risk, being exposed to some has been associated with substantial health disorders, including cancer.
