While many chemicals in cosmetics pose hardly any or zero danger, some are linked with serious health conditions, such as neurological harm and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics enter the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and a lot of other common goods.
