While many chemicals in cosmetic products pose minimal or zero risk, several dozen have been linked to severe health issues, such as neurological harm and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in water, food, and lots of other ordinary products.
