Although the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products pose limited or zero risk, several dozen are associated to serious health conditions, including neurological harm and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals can enter a person's body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer are found in water, food, and lots of other commonly used products.
