While most chemicals in beauty products pose slight or zero threat, dozens have been associated with severe medical issues, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals get into a person's body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and lead to the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in food, water, and a lot of other commonly used products.
