While many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present little or no threat, several are linked to serious health issues, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics enter a person's body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food and lots of other common products.
