While most chemicals in beauty products present very little or zero threat, several have been linked to serious health problems, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics enter the body through the skin and inhalation, and cause the same dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in food, water, and a lot of other commonly used products. Yet, no type of consumer products is accountable to less government oversight than cosmetics, including Norvina Pro Pigment Vol. 3 (Shade B1). While many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics and personal care products very likely pose minimal risk, exposure to a few has been associated with critical health disorders, such as cancer.
