Although the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose limited or zero risk, dozens are linked to severe medical conditions, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals gain entry to the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer are found in food, water, and many other everyday goods. Still, no classification of consumer goods is subject to less government inspection than cosmetics, including Norvina Pro Pigment Vol. 2 (Shade A5). Though most of the chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products in all likelihood pose minimal risk, exposure to some has been linked to significant health concerns, including cancer.
