While many chemicals in cosmetics present very little or no danger, several dozen are associated with considerable health conditions, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Cosmetic chemicals enter a person's body through the skin and inhalation, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other commonly used goods.
