While the majority of chemicals in cosmetics pose very little or no threat, several dozen are associated to severe health conditions, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics enter a person's body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and cause the same dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and various other commonly used products. But, no type of consumer products is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal products, including Norvina Pro Pigment Vol. 2 (Shade A2). Though many of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics almost certainly present little risk, exposure to some has been associated with major health concerns, including cancer.
