While most chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present very little or absolutely no threat, some have been associated with substantial medical conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and pose similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.
