While most chemicals in beauty products pose little or absolutely no threat, several have been associated to serious medical issues, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and many other ordinary goods.
