While most chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present minimal or zero threat, several have been associated to considerable medical problems, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals invade the body through the skin and inhalation, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and many other commonly used products. Yet, no classification of consumer products is accountable to less government inspection than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Lip Gloss (Shade Moon Jelly).
