While the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products pose minimal or no risk, dozens have been linked to considerable medical problems, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics enter the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in water, food, and various other everyday products.
