While the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present very little or absolutely no danger, several dozen have been linked to severe health conditions, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics invade the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer can be found in food, water, and lots of other ordinary items. But, no kind of consumer items is subject to less government inspection than cosmetics and other personal products, including Lip Gloss (Shade Luna). While many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics and personal care products most likely pose little risk, being exposed to some has been linked to critical health issues, including cancer.
