Although many chemicals in cosmetic products pose hardly any or no risk, several dozen have been associated with substantial medical issues, including cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals enter the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in water, food, and many other everyday products. However, no sector of consumer products is susceptible to less government management than cosmetics, including Lip Gloss (Shade Luna). While most of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics almost certainly pose little risk, being exposed to a few is associated with major health concerns, including cancer.
