Though most chemicals in beauty products present little or absolutely no threat, some have been associated with substantial health conditions, such as neurological harm and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer can be found in food and lots of other commonly used goods.
