Though the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose very little or zero threat, several dozen are associated to significant medical problems, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics enter a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and various other common items. Yet, no classification of consumer items is subject to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Matte Lipstick (Shade Peachy).
