Chemicals in cosmetics gain entry to a person's body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and cause similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in food and lots of other everyday goods. However, no area of consumer goods is subject to less government inspection than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Matte Lipstick (Shade Peachy).
