While the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present little or no threat, several dozen have been linked with severe medical conditions, including developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics invade the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food and a lot of other ordinary items. Still, no classification of consumer items is susceptible to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Matte Lipstick (Shade Latte). While most of the chemicals in cosmetics very likely present minimal risk, exposure to a few has been associated with major health issues, such as cancer.
