Though many chemicals in beauty products pose little or no danger, dozens have been linked with serious medical issues, such as neurological harm and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and lead to similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer are found in food, water, and many other commonly used products.
