Although the majority of chemicals in cosmetics present very little or absolutely no threat, several dozen have been associated to severe medical problems, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Cosmetic chemicals invade the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer are found in food, water, and several other commonly used goods. Still, no area of consumer goods is susceptible to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal products, including Matte Lipstick (Shade Dusty Mauve).
