Although the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products present minimal or absolutely no risk, several dozen are associated with serious medical conditions, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals invade a person's body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other ordinary goods.
