Though most chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose slight or no danger, several dozen are associated with severe health conditions, including developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and pose similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.
