Although many chemicals in cosmetic products pose very little or zero risk, several have been linked with substantial medical issues, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.
