While most chemicals in beauty products present very little or zero risk, dozens have been linked with serious health problems, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics gain entry to the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer can be found in food and various other everyday products. But, no type of consumer products is subject to less government management than cosmetics, including Lip Color. Although many of the chemicals in cosmetics probably pose little risk, subjection to some has been linked to critical health conditions, including cancer.
