While the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose little or zero threat, several are associated to severe medical problems, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics invade a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in food, water, and various other commonly used products. Still, no type of consumer products is subject to less government management than cosmetics, including Lip Color. While most of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics probably pose very little risk, exposure to some is linked to significant health disorders, including cancer.
